The CBDistillery is a Colorado-based CBD company dedicated to developing a wide range of CBD products while growing its #CBDMOVEMENT. This movement aims to educate the masses on the benefits of CBD by providing access to research and testimonials. The CBDistillery is one of the top CBD producers in the nation, and it’s well-known for its unique product offerings and low prices. Its down-to-Earth attitude and rock-bottom prices may have attracted a lot of customers, but are the products actually any good? That’s what we’re going to find out in our comprehensive review of The CBDistillery.
The CBDistillery’s Products
About The CBDistillery
The CBDistillery was founded by a group of Colorado natives that wanted to spread the word about the benefits of CBD. There’s not much information on exactly who these founders were, but there is a transparent list of all of the current staff at The CBDistillery on the website.
The CBDistillery is devoted to the spreading the word on CBD. They do this by openly encouraging and publishing customer testimonials, creating a wide range of CBD-infused products, and through their #CBDMOVEMENT campaign.
This campaign is a pretty clear marketing ploy, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t done any good. As a result of The CBDistillery’s dedication to this movement, they have one of the most information-rich CBD sites (compared to other CBD sellers’ sites). You can easily access info on many different aspects of CBD and there is even a complete downloadable user’s guide available for free (though you will have to provide your email address to access it).
The CBDistillery has quickly grown to be one of the most popular CBD brands in the country. Although the low prices certainly have something to do with that, tests and reviews have indicated that this company is one of the best in terms of CBD quality.
What Makes The CBDistillery Different?
The most outstanding element of The CBDistillery is its prices. A range of products is offered at prices as low as 70% below those of competitors. Most CBD companies sell small quantities of CBD products at premium prices, so it’s definitely nice to find a company that is making CBD more accessible.
But it begs the question: how are they able to sell their products at such low prices? Because we don’t know exactly where The CBDistillery gets its hemp or how the CBD and other cannabinoids are extracted from it, we can guess that the savings are probably hidden somewhere in these grey areas.
This doesn’t mean that The CBDistillery shouldn’t be trusted. On the contrary, they provide easily-accessible 3rd party lab test results on each of their product pages (which is something else that you don’t always find). The truth is that despite a lack of sourcing information, The CBDistillery still has a highly-regarded product line.
The CBDistillery makes up for this lack of information by providing a ton of other helpful info on a wide range of CBD-related issues. Their user’s guide describes everything you need to know to help you choose a CBD product, determine the dosage, and understand what exactly it is you’re taking. They also have a great F.A.Q. page on their site that delves into basic questions on CBD and cannabinoids, legal issues, dosage and much more. This, combined with plenty of customer testimonials, makes The CBDistillery one of the most informative companies we’ve come across.
Finally, we appreciate that The CBDistillery has a dedicated THC-free product section on its site. While CBD aficionados will know these products simply as CBD isolates, newcomers will likely be unfamiliar with these terms. Also, even some CBD isolate products made by other companies are not guaranteed to be THC-free. Those who are subject to drug testing or suffer from more severe anxiety will be happy to find a site that offers (and clearly defines) its products that are 100% THC-free.
The CBDistillery has a decent list of products ranging from hemp oil to vape liquid to topical creams and edibles. All the CBD in these products comes from non-GMO, pesticide-free industrial hemp grown outdoors using organic practices.
The CBDistillery’s price points are attractive, but are the deals too good to be true? We’ll find out below.
CBD Hemp Oil (Full-Spectrum)
The CBDistillery’s full-spectrum hemp oil contains CBD and a mix of other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes from hemp. The blend is all-natural and contains no artificial flavors or dyes. It is infused into coconut oil (all CBD oil requires a “carrier oil” such as this).
The full-spectrum CBD oil comes in five strengths, but just in one size. One of the great things about The CBDistillery is that they offer some extremely high concentrations of CBD in their oils. You can start out low with a 30ml bottle containing 250mg of CBD, or, if you suffer from chronic pain or another severe condition, you can up the concentration to as much as 5000mg of CBD in a 30ml bottle. Most CBD companies offer CBD oil concentrations up to just 1500mg, which may not be enough for some.
We got our hands on a 30ml bottle of the 2500mg concentration CBD oil, and we could definitely feel the effects. One milliliter at this concentration was a heavier dose than some of us were used to, which made us a bit lazy, but the feeling was very pleasant. A big reduction in anxiety was one plus of this product, and many of us are now keeping it on our bedside table to use at night before sleeping.
If you need a CBD oil for a chronic problem or just aren’t feeling the effects of your current oil, we’d definitely recommend purchasing a high concentration of hemp oil from The CBDistillery.
The CBDistillery’s site does not list any CBD oil isolates under their Isolates section, although they do have them. The CBD isolate oils can be found under the THC-free section. For consistency, we’ve organized this review in the same way. If you’d like to read about the CBD oil isolates, jump down to the bottom of this list.
The CBDistillery offers a few different pure CBD isolate dabs and a small line of CBD “terpsolates,” or isolate dabs with terpenes added for flavor, under their Isolates section.
The pure CBD dabs come in three options: crystalline powder, formulation powder, and slab (solid chunks). These dabs are 99%+ pure CBD and contain nothing else. This means that these products can only come in one strength option. There are, however, 5 size options to choose from. This is essentially pure CBD in its most base and isolated form. This makes it ideal for use in cooking, adding to tobacco or something that you smoke, adding to drinks or teas, or processing into your own CBD blends. You can also take it as is.
The CBDistillery’s other line of isolates, called “terpsolates,” is essentially the same as the dabs above but with flavor added. Keep in mind that because the flavors are derived from terpenes (natural oils in hemp) these products will have an earthy, cannabis-like flavor. The added flavor makes dabbing easy, and the terpenes have the added effect of assisting in faster reception. The terpsolates are each available in only one size.
We tried adding some of the CBD pure isolate powder into some strawberry Jello (highly recommended!) and we dabbed the Tangie terpsolate (citrus flavored) on its own. The CBD Jello tasted like normal Jello, but just a little powder went a long way. We felt the effects of the pure CBD quickly. We’d definitely recommend this for taking on the job, as the effect is noticeable but doesn’t detract from concentration or focus.
The Tangie terpsolate was also quite effective, but taking it on its own makes it a bit difficult to distinguish how much you’re consuming. Nonetheless, the flavor was pleasant we all felt very relaxed.
Pure CBD Isolate Dabs
The CBDistillery makes two different types of CBD gummies. One is a standard gummy that contains pure CBD, and the other is a nighttime version that contains pure CBD and melatonin. Neither product contains any other cannabinoids, including THC.
Each product only comes in one size and one strength, which we frown upon in most cases. But The CBDistillery makes up for this by offering a very potent product at a great price. Each bottle comes with 30 gummies, and each gummy contains 30mg of pure CBD. This is a much higher concentration than other companies offer at the same price point or higher.
Upon trying The CBDistillery’s bear-shaped gummies, we became believers. These gummies really pack a punch. We found that the nighttime gummies weren’t really necessary. We could take the original gummies during the day and for sleep.
We really appreciated that the gummies contain pure CBD and not a full-spectrum hemp blend. We love full-spectrum oil, but pure CBD can be taken in small or large doses without a loss of focus. This means that these gummies will definitely be sitting in our desk drawers from now on.
The CBDistillery produces both capsules and softgels containing CBD. For those who want to want to take their CBD quickly, discreetly, and flavorlessly, capsules are a convenient option.
Only one type of hard capsule is available. These capsules come in a 30ct. bottle and contain 25mg of full-spectrum CBD each. There are also two types of CBD softgels on offer. One is a full-spectrum CBD blend and the other is a CBD isolate (it contains no other cannabinoids and no THC). All the capsules are vegetarian and are made with non-GMO hemp and coconut oil.
These easy-to-swallow capsules are pretty straight-forward. Keep them in your car or with your vitamins and take one when needed. The downside of capsules is that you have to wait a while to feel the effects, and you may not feel anything at all. Though this is exactly why many users choose to take them. If you’re hoping to feel the effects, you may want to try the softgels opposed to the hard tablets. Not only do they contain more CBD, but they will also release the CBD into your body more quickly. You still may need to wait up to an hour for the CBD to do its job, especially if you’ve eaten recently.
The CBDistillery makes three different topical products. It makes a CBD salve for pain relief, a cream for skin care, and a lip balm.
The CBD pain relief salve is called CBDol. It comes in a 1oz. container, and along with 500mg of full-spectrum CBD oil, it contains a bunch of essential oils, herbs, and vitamins. This is one of The CBDistillery’s products that is not priced quite as attractively compared to those of competitors. You get a very small amount of salve for the price, but on the bright side, it is highly effective. A blend of peppermint, green tea, lavender, aloe, beeswax and much more come together to provide instantaneous relief. Muscle and joint pain is soothed very quickly due to the salve’s cooling sensation, and the CBD kicks in soon after to provide long-lasting relief. It also smells great.
The skin cream is called CBDefine. It’s available in the same size and at the same price as CBDol, and it also contains 500mg of full-spectrum CBD. You’ll find a mix of oils and herbs accompanying the CBD blend such as coconut oil, almond oil, apricot oil, Rosemary, and Frankincense. While this product is also on the expensive side, you don’t need to use much. As it’s all natural, you can even mix it with the skin cream you currently use. The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD combined with high-quality oils and herbs makes skin feel and look great.
Finally, we have the CBD lip balm. This smooth and tasty vanilla flavored balm contains 25mg of full-spectrum CBD as well as shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax, lanolin and more. This will definitely satisfy any lip balm junkie with its natural goodness. But, is it more effective than other leading all-natural lip balms? We couldn’t really tell the difference, but as the price is quite low, we could see ourselves using it again.
Vape Liquid and Accessories
The CBDistillery’s selection of vaping products isn’t very comprehensive. They offer four different flavors of vape liquid as well as pre-filled vape cartridges and a few vape pens.
The best thing we found was their black stylus vape pen with an attached USB charger. This made vaping really convenient from just about anywhere. The other vape pens (and cartridges) are disposable, which we found a bit wasteful considering they’re metallic. Also, they’re a bit pricey for being disposable products.
We won’t linger on the pens and cartridges, as CBD companies’ most important vape products should be their vape liquids. The CBDistillery drops the ball here, unfortunately, as it offers only four flavors of vape liquid at only one strength and size option.
On a positive note, the flavors are quite good and the concentration of CBD is a healthy 1000mg. Also, the vape liquid contains only CBD with some traces of CBDV (another beneficial cannabinoid). That means that you won’t find any THC here. If you love vaping, you definitely don’t want THC building up in your system as you enjoy the effects of CBD.
Those among us who vape enjoyed the smooth flavors and relaxing feeling from The CBDistillery’s vape liquids. They aren’t anything extra special, but the price is good. One downside is that committing to a 1000mg product means you’ll be vaping the same flavor for a long time (unless you want to make a considerable investment). We hope that The CBDistillery will bulk up their vape line soon.
Disposable Vape Pens
The CBDistillery offers 1g supplements of broad-spectrum CBD wax which contain about 800mg of CBD per container. As another form of dab, this product can be used for many things, but it’s especially effective if inhaled.
This is one of The CBDistillery’s only “broad-spectrum” products. This means that it doesn’t contain all of the cannabinoids in hemp but only a select few. The wax contains a slightly higher concentration of CBG as well as CBDA. This combination results in a slightly different effect than the pure isolate dabs, and it shows that The CBDistillery is committed to experimenting with new CBD blends to bring customers more variety.
We tried out the CBD wax, and while this product isn’t made by many companies, this was definitely the best we’d tried. It was smooth and tasted great, and it left us feeling invigorated and relaxed at the same time. A really wonderful feeling! The wax dab is much pricier than the pure CBD isolate dabs, but CBD lovers looking for something special won’t be disappointed.
This one was a first for us. CBD suppositories? Are you serious? We have to admit that we didn’t try these out, but the reviews and science behind them are solid.
The CBDistillery’s CBD suppositories come in a pack of three and each one contains 50mg of CBD. They are recommended for those who suffer from severe stomach or intestinal problems, those who can’t take CBD orally, or for those who simply need fast relief. As the intestine is the organ that absorbs nutrition and sends them into the bloodstream, taking a CBD suppository may be the quickest way to get CBD when you need it most. You’ll also enjoy twice the absorption rate of oral supplements.
This product may seem a bit “out there,” but it has helped many people. If you take CBD for nausea or stomach problems and you often suffer from bouts of extreme discomfort, we’d recommend keeping some of these suppositories on hand.
The CBDistillery makes a line of CBD isolate oils that can be found under their THC Free section. While these oils are technically CBD oils and isolates, The CBDistillery has put them under a separate heading to clarify to customers that they are 100% free of THC.
CBD isolate oils are similar to the other isolates that we’ve covered in that they only contain pure CBD. No other cannabinoids from hemp, including THC, are present. This is ideal for those who may need to take a drug test for work or for those who are very sensitive to THC. If you don’t fall into one of these categories, we’d recommend trying a full-spectrum oil, as studies suggest a full-spectrum blend results in more benefits. Though in the end, you may want to give both a try.
This pure CBD isolate comes in the same range of strength options as the full-spectrum blend, which means you’ll have access to some incredibly high concentrations of pure CBD. We tried this oil as well and were just as happy with the punch it provided. If you’re not interested in cannabinoids apart from CBD, this pure isolate is a good option for your health and your wallet.
Perfect for dogs and cats alike, The CBDistillery’s 15ml bottle of CBD tincture oil contains 150mg of CBD. Studies have shown that CBD is beneficial to animals as well as humans, and many have started giving their pets CBD oil for anxiety, seizures, or just to counteract the late-night zoomies.
One reason that we like The CBDistillery’s CBD oil for pets is that they don’t just bottle the same oil they give to humans and slap another label on it (like many other companies do). The CBDistillery formulated this pet product using cold-pressed hemp seed oil. This is much easier on your pet’s digestive system. Simply add the pet tincture oil to your pet’s food or water to give them the same benefits of CBD that you enjoy.
This is a well-priced product compared to some others, but the bottle is a bit small. This means that if you have a large dog (over 100lbs) and you’re administering one full dose per day, a bottle will only last about a week.
We gave some of the oil to our pets and saw no adverse effects. They played happily or were just as moody as before. We have no doubt about the positive effects of CBD on pets, but we weren’t able to observe any difference in our fur babies after giving them this product.
We’ll admit that The CBDistillery surprised us. We didn’t expect such a high level of CBD quality and product diversity from a company that offers its products at rock-bottom prices. Sure, we may not know where they get their hemp, but they either get it from quality sources or there simply isn’t much difference between one organic hemp variety and another.
The CBDistillery is truly on the forefront when it comes to product range and innovation. They offer some of the highest concentrations of CBD we’ve seen in their oils, gummies, and topicals, and they have rolled out some really eye-catching products like their CBD suppositories and their industry-topping CBD wax.
We’d like to see an expansion of their vape line. One size and strength option of the CBD vape liquids is just not enough. Also, their four flavor options are lagging way behind competitors. On a similar note, more edibles would be nice too.
Other criticisms include a few transparency issues and lack of CBD oil flavors, but if The CBDistillery is committed to keeping its oils free from artificial flavoring, we can’t blame them.
The hemp oil quality may not be quite as high as that of some other companies, but the difference, in most cases, won’t be noticeable enough to justify paying 50% more. Overall, we recommend The CBDistillery to anyone looking for high-quality CBD at a great price.
